Questions Remain After Manhattan Sidewalk Tragedy

A routine afternoon in Manhattan turned into a serious emergency when a vehicle reportedly left the road and struck people on a busy sidewalk, leaving two people dead and several others injured.

Authorities said the 61-year-old driver was taken into custody as investigators began reviewing the circumstances surrounding the crash. The incident drew a large emergency response and left witnesses, residents, and visitors shaken.

What Officials Have Confirmed

Police confirmed that two people lost their lives in the incident. Several others suffered serious injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for medical care.
