Neighbours have described the sound of a double-decker bus crashing into a house as like a "bomb going off".
Police were called to West Road in Ormesby St Margaret, near Great Yamouth in Norfolk, at 10.12am on Thursday to find the bus embedded in the side of a period property.
Firefighters from Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Carrow and Dereham, as well as an urban search and rescue team, were sent to the scene.
It is believed that the owner of the property had spent the last six years renovating the house and was not at home at the time of the crash.

Neighbour Kevin Griffin, 63, said the crash sounded like a "bomb" going off.
"I was coming out of my front door of my house, and I just glanced to my side, and then there was a bus coming towards my house," he said.
"Then I saw a big cloud of dust. It sounded like an explosion. It sounded like a bomb going off, and there was dust everywhere, and I just ran through my gate to my bus.
"I got on to the bus, then I was helping people get off the bus. It was upsetting," he added.
ITV News Anglia understands there were seven or eight people on board the bus, but Norfolk Police said nobody was injured.
Tony Bushkes, who lives nearby, said the sound of the bus colliding with the house was "shocking".
"The sound of it was really dramatic," he said.
"I grabbed my camera and went over as soon as I could to check everything was ok."
The road remainsed closed off while emergency services remained at the scene.
A spokesperson for First Bus said: “We can confirm one of our buses has been involved in a collision with a building in Ormesby St Margaret in Norfolk.
"There are currently no reports of any injuries among members of the public, our staff or passengers and we are working closely with the local emergency services to agree next steps.”
